We would like to inform you that given the recent guidance from the Government, we have decided to suspend in person property visits until further notice.
We feel that is it most important to protect all members of the public, which include our Enforcement Agents, and tenants / debtors by ensuring we are complying with the most up to date government advice – https://www.gov.uk/coronavirus
Also, we have sought advice from the Ministry of Justice and the Certificated Enforcement Agent Association, who have said the following:
“Enforcement activity cannot be carried out within the Government guidelines and as a company you could not guarantee the safety of your EA(s) therefore leave yourself open to litigation.
I think we should as an Association now give guidance that in our opinion Enforcement visits should CEASE until further notice.
It is important that bailiffs follow the latest government guidance regarding working practices and contact with others, including social distancing measures. We would recommend Bailiffs suspend in-person visits unless they are able to comply with advice on social distancing and / or be equipped with suitable PPE.
This is in line with the approach that HMCTS is taking.”
We will of course be able to assist as usual on the phone, and on emails, and issuing notices, documents and offering support services whilst following we get through this tough period that the country is facing.
